Siam Park City (สวนสยาม) - my favorite waterpark
Siam park city is located in suburbs of Bangkok. The best way to get there is by Taxi. Just tell the driver "Siam park city". Usually, it costs about 300 baht.
My story
First time I visited it in 1996. I was only 6 years old. We visited it about once a month. It is one of most excited experience, I remember from living in Thailand.
We've ridden all the rides and then went to Water World park. For me, it was like spending a day on a real sea. We swim in the waved pool, then go to the river, if there are no lines on slides, we went to ride them. Because, I was young, sometimes I was restricted from riding the tallest one, it was a real luck if the pool guard allowed me to take a ride. Oh, all that fun. It is possible to take sunbed there too. And take a food like a picnic or played cards. I used to come there with my parents along with their friends. So there were many people to play cards with. There is a lunch area at the entrance to the water world, oh, Papaya salad there was so good. We always have a lunch there.
Nowadays, a lot of Russian people come from Pattaya hotels to visit this park. I wonder if they fill the same about it as I do.
Areas
Here is the map:
There are 5 zones in Siam Park:
- Water park
- X-Zone
- Family World
- Fantasy World
- Small World
Water World is a water park. It has the largest open waived pool in a world. It also has one straight slide and a curved one. For chilling, you can lie down on a sunbed or swim in a pool river. For kids, they have a special area called Siam Lagoon. It has a small market (number 43) in front of it, where a lot of stuff like souvenirs and swim wear are sold.
X-Zone is the coolest one. It has all the roller coasters. I definitely recommend to check out Boomerang (number 15), Vortex(number 26), Giant Drop(number 24). The coasters are new and safe and almost no lines. I don't know if it is possible to find coasters like that in the USA or Europe without lines.
What did changed
If you look closely on the map, you see an old yellow roller coaster, in 1996 that was the coolest one in the park. Nowadays they built a lot of new and cool ones. The best is Vortex It's 33 m high and 765 m long, with the highest speed at 80 km/h. Your kids required to be taller than 130cm to ride it, I think in 1996, I was exactly that height. They build a lot of new stuff in x-zone.
But small coasters like Tagada disco (number 14) and Rock and Roll (number 10) were so fun for 6 years old kid. I am so glad that they still stay there.
Unfortunately, not much has changed for the Water World. But it is still my favorite water park!
