Flying a Drone in Brno: Exploring the City from Above

In September 2022, I had the pleasure of spending two days in the beautiful city of Brno. As a lover of beer, architecture, and stunning views, I was excited to explore all that this city had to offer. And let me tell you, Brno did not disappoint.

The weather was perfect for exploring the city on foot, with sunny skies and a cool breeze. I spent my days wandering the streets, taking in the stunning architecture and enjoying the many local beers on offer. From simple lagers to complex IPAs, Brno had something for every beer lover.

And of course, I couldn't leave Brno without sampling some of the local cuisine. From hearty stews to delicious pastries, the food in Brno was as diverse as it was delicious.

As a drone enthusiast, I was thrilled to have the opportunity to explore Brno from above. Flying my drone over the city's stunning landmarks was an experience like no other. I loved being able to capture unique perspectives and angles that I wouldn't have been able to see otherwise.

Here is a list of places:

City center. Near Cathedral of Petr and Pavel

★★★★★

The most iconic landmarks in Brno is the Cathedral of Petr and Pavel and the building and parks around it.

In 2017, I visited Brno with my Mavic drone but wasn't aware of the proper transportation rules. As a result, the cable between the camera and gimbal broke, and I couldn't fly my drone. Fast forward to 2022, I returned to Brno with a new Mavic drone and followed the rules. This time, I was able to capture stunning footage of Denisovy sady without any issues. I learned the lesson and am excited to continue exploring.

Castle Shpilberk

Flying a drone around the castle will give you a unique perspective on its architecture and the surrounding area. You'll be able to capture stunning footage of the castle's towers and walls, as well as the beautiful views of the city below.

During my first trip to Brno in 2017, I visited Castle Shpilberk and captured some amazing footage for my vlog. On my recent trip to Brno, I knew I had to visit the castle again. This time, I found a quiet spot at the foot of the hill, under a tree, and flew my drone couple times.

The perspective of the modern city against the backdrop of the old castle was simply breathtaking. I highly recommend visiting Castle Shpilberk and capturing this stunning view for yourself. Check out my Instagram post to see the amazing footage I captured during my visit.
